Fresh-brewed coffee with an infusion of cannabinoids like THC or CBD.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 1 cup
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 tsp cannabis-infused butter or oil

Equipment

  • 1 Coffee maker of choice (Pour-over, French press, drip, espresso, etc.)
  • 1 mug
  • Spoon or milk frother

Method

  1. Make your coffee using your preferred method. Fresh, local, high-quality beans will give you a better result.
  2. Add ½ to 1 teaspoon of cannabis-infused butter or oil into your mug while the coffee is hot.
  3. Stir well or use a milk frother to fully combine. This step matters. Without proper mixing, the oil can separate.
  4. Add milk, creamer, or sweetener to taste. Fat-based additives like whole milk or oat milk help improve texture and infusion.
  5. Start with a small amount and wait at least 30-60 minutes to feel the effects before drinking more.

Notes

How strong should your cannabis coffee be?

The strength of your cannabis coffee depends entirely on your infusion, not the coffee itself. If your butter or oil is strong, your coffee will be strong.
A good beginner dose is:
  • 2-5 mg THC per serving: light, functional
  • 5-10 mg THC: moderate
  • 10+ mg THC: strong (for experienced users)
If you’re unsure, always start low. Cannabis coffee behaves more like an edible than smoking. Effects can take longer to hit but last much longer with more intensity. Most guides emphasize starting small and adjusting slowly to avoid overdoing it.
