Bob Marley’s Legacy Burns Bright With New Cannabis Collab
“Growing up around my father’s legacy and the Rastafari faith, herb was never viewed through the same lens that much of the world saw it. For many years, there was a lot of misunderstanding and stigma surrounding cannabis, so it’s been encouraging to see that conversation evolve,” Cedella Marley, daughter of the late, great reggae icon Bob Marley, told SURFER.
“We spent a lot of time in Jamaica, working with everyone from scientists at the University of the West Indies, to the Marley family, to local Jamaican farmers in the hills,” explained Benjamin Lind, co-founder and chief science officer at Humboldt Seed Company (and a dedicated NorCal surfer himself). “What we have here are modernized strains that were inspired by what Bob and friends were smoking back in the day.”
