The winning strains from Humboldt Seed Company’s latest pheno hunt

Each season, Humboldt Seed Company invites a select group of deeply experienced and insightful judges for an immersive week in Northern California. Their mission is to comb through more than ten thousand plants in search of the next standout genetics.

Leafly’s Lindsay MaHarry joined the latest hunt, where the spotlight was firmly on hash producers. The team was chasing true “washers,” plants that deliver sandy, resilient trichomes that break free in ice water without melting down. Only those capable of holding form and pressing cleanly into premium ice water hash made the cut.
